The Bowflex Ultimate Comes In Four Different Versions

What's The Difference In The Various Bowflex Ultimate Models - Besides Price?

The bowflex ultimate is one of the better quality bowflex home gyms available. The bowflex ultimate also comes in a few different versions with varying prices.

The first version of the ultimate that we'll take a look at is the XTLU. Keep in mind that all versions of the ultimate do come with a 10 year warranty, which in itself is very valuable.

This bowflex model comes with the ability to perform over 90 different resistance (weight lifting) exercises. This is an important aspect especially if you are looking to burn body fat. The more muscle you use during your workout, the more fat calories you're going to burn.

With the ability to do over 90 different exercises, it's the bowflex ultimate XTLU that will give you the most variety in your workout.

The bowflex XTLU also comes standard with a fairly decent Lat pulldown attachment. This is a good add on as it allows you to do a number of different exercises to build your upper back.

This bowflex also comes with a low pulley / squat station to enable you to work your glutes, hip flexors and quads.

In short, this version of the ultimate bowflex is equipped with almost everything you'd want it a home gym. You still won't build the type of body you could using free weights (regardless of what the commercials say) but all-in-all it's a decent piece of equipment.

One important factor to remember, before you rush out and buy a bowflex ultimate, is the space requirements.

The bowflex ultimate measures: Height: 6' 11" Length: 8' 2" Width: 4' 2". Make sure you have at least an extra 3 feet in length, 3 feet in width, and at least ½ foot of clearance for the height, over the dimensions of the bowflex ultimate XTLU.

Far too often people will rush out and buy exercise equipment only to find out after they've pulled it out of the boxes that it doesn't fit where they want it too.

Lose 40 Pounds In 4 Weeks!

Expect to pay approximately $39 / month over a few years for the ultimate bowflex XTLU.

The next ultimate bowflex in line for discussion is the bowflex ultimate XLU. It's basically a small step down from the ultimate XTLU. It offers fewer exercises, 85 in total, which is only a few less than the ultimate XTLU.

For the most part you are going to be able to work the same muscle groups in the same manner as you would with the bowflex ultimate XTLU. There are very few differences between the two, except that the XTLU comes with the leg extension / leg curl attachment.

However, in time a lot of people find that the leg extension / leg curl attachment would come in very handy.

Like all of the ultimate bowflex models, this version does come standard with 310 pounds of weight resistance. You can also upgrade to 410 pounds of weight resistance if you find you need more.

This version is also somewhat smaller than the ultimate XTLU, measuring: Height: 6' 11" Length: 5' 10" Width: 4' 2"

You can still expect to pay about the same $39 / month, as you would with the ultimate bowflex XTLU, but with less monthly payments

Bowflex exercise equipment version number 3 is the ultimate XTU. Now this version is basically the same as the most basic version of the ultimate except that it comes with a leg extension / leg curl attachment.

You can do a few more exercises with this version than with the basic version, but one important, and much needed, piece of exercise equipment is missing on this one. Unlike the two versions of the ultimate bowflex mentioned above, this one does not come with a lat pull-down attachment.

Since no bowflex comes with a pull-up station your back is one area that's going to suffer, since there's no pull-down. If you buy the ultimate bowflex XTU, I would also suggest adding some free weights so you can work your lats (upper back) properly. The ultimate bowflex XTU will cost you the same as the bowflex XLU, approximately $39 / month for the same time period.

Now lets take a brief look at the bowflex that's simply called the bowflex ultimate.

This is the cheapest version of the ultimate bowflex but I'm not convinced it's worth it.

The reason is that it's missing some key "ingredients" most noticeably there's not lat pull-down station and no leg extension / leg curl attachment.

This may be fine if you're just looking to maintain your current physical conditioning and health, but if you're in need of a home gym that will drastically change your physique, I'm not convinced that this is it.

You'd be much better off going with the bowflex exercise equipment Ultimate XTLU. With that being said, if you are looking for a home gym that won't take up much space and is a little cheaper, then maybe you don't have much of a choice.

The cost per month of this bowflex is still going to be around $39 / month, but this basic model of the ultimate bowflex will cost you the least amount of money (less payments) out of all of the ultimate bowflex models.

The bowflex ultimate, or any exercise equipment you use for that matter, is only part of the puzzle. You need to be able to effectively use your bowflex ultimate or alternative home gym equipment properly and consistently to reach your goals.
